A Guide to Hikes Near Ocean Shores

One of the best things about the trails near Ocean Shores is there’s something for everyone. Whether looking for a path perfect for kids or something a bit more challenging, there’s a little bit of everything.

• One of the most popular trails is the Weatherwax Trail. The 1.2-mile loop trail takes you through Weatherwax Nature Preserve and is best enjoyed from May through September. This is a dog-friendly trail, but your pup must remain on a leash.
• Another excellent opinion is the .6-mile Perkins Pond Nature Trail. This path is perhaps one of the best-kept secrets in Ocean Shores. Parking is available near the Cabana Park swimming pool.
• For a longer outing, hike the Damon Point State Park Trail. The 3.3-mile loop trail generally takes about an hour to finish and is known for being a fantastic birding spot. This is not a dog-friendly trail.
• If you’re spending time at Griffiths-Priday State Park, explore the Copalis River Spit Trail. The 3.2-mile out-and-back trail takes you past dunes and trees. Keep in mind, this path can flood or become extremely muddy.
• For those staying with us during the summer, we recommend hiking the .9-mile Ocean City State Park Walk. The sandy path takes you to the shoreline, where you can relax and listen to the waves roll in.
