Invigorating, stretching, toning – people practice yoga and Pilates for a variety of reasons. As part of a beach lifestyle or vacation, a Pilates or yoga class can be both rejuvenating and relaxing – which is why it’s the perfect fit with our beach resort community at Oyhut Bay.
Our initial yoga classes started this May and they’ve been a big hit, so local instructors are adding more yoga classes, plus our first Pilates classes, starting July 21st. Oyhut Bay guests, homeowners, locals and visitors to town, folks of all ages and abilities – all are welcome.
Classes are currently being held in temporary venues at Oyhut Bay as our community grows. The first retail building is now under construction, including a new studio for yoga and Pilates classes, set to open early this fall. Local instructors will rotate in to teach on a regular basis with classes for a variety of levels. Stay tuned for more information!
The class schedule:
Basic Pilates – Thursday Evenings, July 21st through September 22nd (except August 4th), 6 to 7 p.m. Suggested donation $10 per class, or $50 for the full series of up to ten classes. (Cash or check.)
Basic Yoga – Saturday mornings, July 23rd and 30th, 9 to 10 a.m. and Sunday, July 24th 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. $10 drop-in fee (cash or check).
Kids Yoga with Teri Vogt – August 9th, 10th and 11th, 10 to 10:40 a.m. Free.
Candlelight Yoga with Teri Vogt – August 9th, 10th and 11th, 6 to 7 p.m. $10 drop-in fee (cash or check).
All classes are at Oyhut Bay, 400 Salmonberry Lane SW, 5 miles south of Downtown Ocean Shores. Classes will be held in Quail Run Park next to Cottage #1, but in case of rain watch for signs directing you to a covered location in the tent or loft. We have some yoga mats and straps available to borrow, but you can bring a yoga mat, strap, block or other gear if you have it.
