Where to Discover Breathtaking Nature in Washington State

One of the biggest reasons people visit the Pacific Northwest is its stunning scenery. There are several charming towns that make the perfect destination for anyone looking to surround themselves with picturesque views. One such town is Ocean Shores, and there’s no better place to call home here than Oyhut Bay Seaside Village. On your next visit to our slice of Washington State, spend time outdoors in nature.

There are several places in or near Ocean Shores that showcase Mother Nature’s beauty. There’s nothing better than disconnecting from technology for a while and having birds chirping or waves rolling in be the soundtrack of your adventure.

Visit a State Park

Some of the best places to take in the beauty of this region is at a state park near Ocean Shores. You have a few different options that are only a short drive from your vacation rental.

  • Ocean City State Park in Hoquiam backs the North Bay Natural Preserve. Depending on the time of the year, you can drive onto the beach.
  • North of Ocean Shores is Griffiths-Priday State Park. Found at the mouth of Connor Creek and the Pacific Coast, this park provides visitors with the best of both river and ocean landscapes.
  • Go for a walk along the beach at Damon Point State Park. With water on three sides, this park is ideal for storm-watching and beachcombing.

Explore a Natural Attraction

Our Ocean Shores cottages are found right on the edge of Oyhut Wildlife Recreation Area, a 600-acre space filled with wetland and estuary habitats. This spot is one of the best areas to enjoy wildlife viewing, especially if you are into birding.

Another option is the Weatherwax Nature Preserve. Found in the center of town, the undeveloped property is filled with old-growth trees and forested wetlands. The best way to explore this area is on the Weatherwax Trail. The 1.2-mile loop trail skirts the edge of Duck Lake and is relatively flat, making it an excellent option for people with younger children.
